Zanzibar’s first vice president Maalim Seif has died of suspected COVID-19.
This has been announced by the Tanzania’s President John Pombe Magufuli on his Twitter page on Wednesday, February 17.
Magufuli said he had received the news with great shock and sent his condolences to the late Seif’s family.
Seif was a member of ACT-Wazalendo Party until his demise.
Seif before his demise he had confirmed he had been hospitalised after being diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. “It is true I am at Mnazi Mmoja Hospital where I am being treated for Covid-19 and my wife has been isolated at home,” he was quoted by East African
